When You Are Eligible
You can receive Porter flight delay compensation if any of the following apply:
- Your flight was delayed by 3+ hours.
- Your flight was cancelled less than 14 days before departure.
- You were denied boarding due to reasons within the airline’s control.
- A missed connection caused you to arrive 3+ hours late.
Keep in mind that these rules are based on Canada’s APPR, not EU or US regulations.
When You Are Not Eligible
There are instances where the airline is not required to compensate you:
- Bad weather.
- Security risks.
- Airport staff strikes.
- Medical emergencies.
- Technical issues affecting safety.
However, even if you’re not entitled to compensation, the airline is still obligated to assist you. They should provide food, hotel accommodation if necessary, or arrange a new flight.
