Biggest Flight Disruptions of the Week | 03.22
This week, at least two airports had ATC problems that caused flight disruptions. Frankfurt had some issues today, while Stockholm’s Arlanda experienced power outage yesterday, which caused flight delays and cancellations.

On Monday, a Lufthansa Cityline flight to Amsterdam had to return to Munich after the crew received a gear disagree indication (usually meaning that the gear wouldn’t retract). The flight was cancelled.
Monday also saw delays in France, as transport workers went on strike. However, flight disruptions caused by strikes are unclaimable.
Again on Monday, a FlyEgypt flight was taking off from Hurghada (Egypt) to fly to Graz (Austria) when a loud bang was heard in the cabin. The plane landed back in Hurghada, was maintenance found damage to tail skid (itself a thing designed to prevent or soften tail strikes). A replacement plane took passengers to Graz with a delay of 4 hours.
A British Airways flight from New York to London was forced to land in Canada on Tuesday. The crew reported cargo smoke indication, as well as the discharge of forward and aft fire bottles. After they landed, the emergency services did not find any trace of fire, heat or smoke. A replacement plane took passengers to London with a delay of 5,5 hours.
A KLM flight from Amsterdam to Sao Paulo (Brazil) was near Ireland when it had to turn back. Once the engine was using more oil than it should have. A replacement plane brought the passengers to Sao Paulo 4,5 hours late, which makes this flight claimable!
