On May 31, an American Airlines Airbus plane taking off from Philadelphia for a flight to Madrid reported a small bird in the nose gear and aborted. This bird strike delayed the flight for 4 hours and the plane landed in Madrid for 4 hours and 15 minutes late. Sadly, this incident is not claimable.
Last Sunday, a Ryanair Boeing on a flight from Marrakesh (Morocco) to Stuttgart had to divert to Madrid after the crew reported a cracked windshield (the airline simply reports a technical issue). A replacement Boeing took the passengers to Stuttgart with a delay of more than 3 hours, which makes this flight claimable!
On the same day, a Joon Airbus had to abort its flight from Paris to Rome and land at Lyon due to loss of oil pressure in one of the engines. A replacement plane took the passengers to Rome, though with the total delay of 4.5 hours, this incident is claimable!
A TAP flight on a Portugalia plane had to divert to Lisbon (from the original flight from Porto to Zurich) due to electrical problems. The passengers were reportedly rebooked to other flights. Still, this seems like very much a claimable flight!
An Air Baltic plane was en route from Riga to Stockholm when it experienced the loss of cabin pressure. This forced the plane to return to Riga. A replacement plane was organized for the passengers, reaching Stockholm more than 4 hours late. Seem claimable!
An UTair plane was flying from Moscow to Berlin when it experienced the loss of cabin pressure. It returned back to Moscow, where it safely landed. A replacement plane took the passengers to Berlin with a delay of 5 hours. Sadly, since it’s a flight from outside the EU into the EU, but the air carrier isn’t registered in the EU, flight compensation rules do not apply.
On June 4, a Joon flight from Porto to Paris had to turn around due to smoke in the cabin. It landed back at Porto about an hour after departure. Apparently, a recirculation fan had broken down. A replacement plane took the passengers to Paris with a delay of whopping 8.5 hours. The passengers should really claim compensation.
Air Mauritius plane was climbing out of Paris Charles de Gaulle airport for a flight to Mauritius (Mauritius) when the flight was stopped due to a gear malfunction indication. The plane returned back to Paris. It seems like a claimable flight!
On June 5th, a Corendon flight from Graz (Austria) to Antalya (Turkey) was just accelerating for takeoff when the engine ingested a bird. The plane stopped the takeoff procedure. A replacement took the passengers to their destination with a delay of 4.5 hours.
