Being eligible for compensation and finally hearing the news that you will receive the money for your flight inconvenience can be exciting! Who does not get excited about receiving the money? Each time we share the news about claim processing completion, we are happy that our clients will finally receive what they deserve. However, often we come across some problems when clients provide wrong or incomplete bank account information, and this can cause serious delays, as well as additional costs of unsuccessful bank transfers from the bank, and more.
Most Common Information Needed
When the claim reaches its final stages, we ask clients for their bank account details and, if needed, other additional information for money transfer. It is important to remember that we are only making bank transfers – we do not send cheques or perform payments of any other type. Bank account information is only used for compensation transfers to clients. We never ask for bank card details, so please do not share them with anyone!
The most common bank account information that is needed for the money transfer is the receiver’s first and last names, IBAN, SWIFT code for international bank transfers, country of the bank and its name, bank’s address, preferred currency, and if the receiver is not living in the EU country, a living place address will be needed. Looks like a lot of information to provide to us, but this is all we need to perform a smooth money transfer to the client.

Don’t Forget Your Name
However, we often find mistakes when clients provide bank account details, and they are of various types. The most common error is connected to the fact that the main claim holder (person under whose name and email the claim was created) can be unreachable or it is hard to communicate with them because of longer response time. In this way, compensation payout takes longer. To advise, we recommend using your main email address for claim creation, or if there are more people in the claim, please choose the responsible person for communication about flight compensation who would be able to see our emails and respond in a timely manner. “A person, who received money for other persons, is obliged to settle with them, and, in such case, Skycop does not take the risk of non-payment”.
Another important thing to remember is to not forget to provide your own personal banking details, as only passengers who experienced flight disruptions are eligible for compensation and not the people who bought the tickets. In this way, we can prevent asking you to fill in additional forms and help save time by sending you compensation much faster.
The Information Must Be Valid
The third most important thing to remember to provide is valid bank account information, such as valid and correct IBAN or bank account number, not the one copied from the internet, and it has to be without any typing mistakes, wrong or missed symbols. “If the Client has provided wrong or insufficient information needed to pay the Flight Compensation and it is returned to Skycop, Skycop is entitled to deduct all additional costs incurred by Skycop”. It would be sad if the payable compensation sum were deducted because of this reason when clients could have gotten a bigger compensation.
Special Attention
Attention to all United Kingdom bank account holders, as you are mostly using sort code and account number for the money transfers to your bank account, you can calculate your IBAN using the very same information online, or as always contact your bank for them to provide your IBAN number.
And special attention to Marroco account holders, as we need your full IBAN number, not your account number, as with only the account number we are not able to send you the money.

You can always check with your bank for the validity of it, which takes us to the last and also one of the most important things, which is the SWIFT code. Almost every bank has a SWIFT code for international bank transfers which is crucial for sending money to clients. We have noticed that the USA and Canadian bank account holders often provide bank account information that is used for local bank transfers, for example, routing number is provided when we need a SWIFT code for international bank transfers.
What About The Currency?
Please note, that the currency in which you would receive your compensation will mostly be selected based on the default currency your bank uses, and the money will be converted to an exchange rate on the day and time of the money transfer. Also, “When making an international transfer to the Client, all bank fees are deducted from the Client‘s part of the Flight Compensation”.
As always, we hope that this information will help you understand everything even better and receive your compensation way faster with no disruptions! All additional information can be found on our website. Skycop wishes you safe trips in the future!
However, if your trips are disrupted, don’t worry! We are here to help you get compensated for your troubles and the stress you have experienced.
