5 Exciting New European Routes For 2019
Planes can fly almost anywhere, as long as there’s some tarmac to take off/land upon. But do they fly anywhere? No, as the airlines aren’t always interested in doing. However, the map of air routes changes every year. And here are new European routes for 2019 that Skycop thinks are exciting!

Dublin, Ireland to Shenzhen, China – Hainan
Shenzen is what you bump into if you head north from Hong Kong. It covers its better-known cousin more completely than Canada does the US. Lonely Planet selected it as one of the cities you must visit in 2019, and now you can do it via flights from Dublin.
While Shenzen is mostly known as skyscraper town, you can still find some architecture dating back to Ming dynasty (so 14th century). And if you’re bored with the city, Hong Kong is just a train-ride away.
Amsterdam, The Netherlands to Las Vegas, US – KLM
Trade in Amsterdam, the Dutch city of vice for Las Vegas, the city of vice in the desert. It’s in no danger from the rising sea level, but your pockets are endangered by all the gambling that goes on in this town. The oldest continuously operating casino opened its doors in 1906 and it’s not even on the Las Vegas Strip. Meanwhile, the famous Strip is technically outside the proper city limits.
So whether you’re gambling Downtown or gambling at the Strip, or even gambling at the Stratosphere, you can bet on gambling to be happening in Las Vegas. Did I mention that this place does gambling?
London (Gatwick), UK to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil – Norwegian Air Shuttle
Are you tired of London’s gloomy, rainy atmospheres, the cold, and lack of beaches? Well, then hop onto a Norwegian flight, cross the Atlantic and land at Rio de Janeiro. The best known Brazilian city to refuse to be the country’s capital, Rio will meet you with the Carnival (in February), sunshine, beaches and cocktails.
However, if you go exploring to confirm the veracity of the movie ‘City of God,’ Skycop and its copywriters absolve themselves of all responsibility. You have been warned and have till November (when the route goes live) to get comfortable with the idea.
Lisbon, Portugal to San Francisco, US – TAP Air Portugal
Want to see a legendary piece of California without the risk of catching fire? San Francisco has been apocalyptic fire-free since 1906 and can be reached via a flight from Lisbon (even if the Portuguese airlines aren’t having the best of track records when it comes to flight delays).
See the Golden Gate bridge and the famous hills, compare the city with your experiences from playing GTA: San Andreas, visit the oldest Chinatown in the US, and engage in shenanigans to your heart’s content.
Warsaw, Poland to Miami, US – LOT Polish Airlines
Florida… isn’t the most glamorous of the US states, but getting bit by an alligator is still more amusing that catching fire, so why not fly to Miami? Take a LOT flight from Warsaw and land in Miami, the setting of the hit TV show Miami Vice (and many other media properties) and that one Will Smith song.
Going by the name, the Miami Fashion Week takes place there, and so does the Miami International Film Festival. Try out the cuisine that’s rich with Carribean and Latin American influences. Or, you know, catch some sun at the beach, that’s always an option.
But wherever you go, you might still be stricken by delayed flights, flight cancellations or overbooking. If that happens to you, claim flight compensation! If you do it via Skycop, it will be as easy as – or possibly even easier than – pie! With compensations running up to €600, you will have some early funding for your next trip on an exciting new route!
