6 Autumn Events In France You Just Can’t Miss
Fashion never sleeps. It waits for you to drop your guard and pounces! Suddenly, your entire wardrobe is out of fashion and even Goodwill doesn’t want to take your clothing. That’s why you must always be on the hunt. And what better way to do it than by going to the best autumn fashion events? Here is a list of some of the most impressive fall fashion happenings you should attend.

6. London Fashion Week Festival
LFWF takes place in London (no way!) and between the 20th and 23rd of September. You better hurry if you want to get a slice of that action, then! The catwalks will feature the autumn-winter (AW18) collections of names like Mother of Pearl (with some pieces straight out of London Fashion Week), Katherine Hamnett, Bobby Abley (his collection comes in collaboration with Warner Bros) and Georgia Hardinge.
Aside from that, you’ll be able to engage in some quality shopping. Millie Mackintosh is working to mix established and new designers for the womenswear and accessories section. Erica Davies will present the homeware section and even give a talk about creating homes with personalities. And you mustn’t forget the talks!
5. Berlin Bazaar
Did I mention shopping? You bet your trendily-dressed seat-fillerI did! So why not swing by Berlin from November 7th to 11th and see the Berlin Bazaar? It’s Germany’s “most international sales fair for handicrafts, design, natural products, and Fair Trade goods.” You’ll get to peruse the products from around 500 manufacturers and retailers from more than 60 countries.
The World Market part of the bazaar is presented as an “exotic shopping mall” where you’ll be able to see jewelry from around the world, fashion from South America and African drums. Natural Living hall is all about ecological and sustainable products – after all, you can’t just be sweatshop sweaters all the time!
And if you want to get something for your home, Winter at Home is the section aimed at preparing your house for Christmas. Considering that the show takes place in November, it’s not even too early! You’ll feel even better about the gifts if you buy them at the Fair Trade Market (I believe the name is self-explanatory).
4. Chrysanthemum Festival
Held at the Chateau du Rivau’s on 27th and 28th, it’s the festival for people who love gardening for the visual rather than literal fruits. Rivau castle maintains their horticultural traditions, and as such, many artisans create to show off their floral bounty. There’s also a pumpkin carving workshop for the kids, so they’ll have something to do, too.
3. La Féte du Ventre
Come to Ruen on 13th and 14th of October to experience the Normandy’s biggest gastronomy festival, celebrated since 1935. You know that it is going to be wild since it takes place in the Old Market district in the middle of the city. You’ll have over 180 producers showing off their skill in the kitchen and many people will be wearing traditional costumes of the region. Don’t tarry and get your spot – over 250,000 people visit it every year!
2. Avignon Blues Festival
Avignon Blue Festival, on October 12th-13th, is there for the musical souls among us. You’ll have blues musicians from around the world to play their tunes in this French city. First started in 1997, the 22nd iteration of the festival will please any fan of blues, jazz, gospel, rock, funk, and soul.
1. Quai des Bulles Festival
All the nerds in Saint-Malo will be there. On October 12th-14th, this will be the hottest comic book gathering in France. So if you like adventures of Asterix and Obelix, think that Perry Rhodan was drawn in France, want to make jokes about TinTin in Cathay or be disappointed that nobody in Europe cares about Spider-Man that much. Hey, you’ll finally meet other people that read Valerian and Laureline before that movie came out!
