When Are You Entitled To Air Transat Flight Compensation?
Flight Disruptions
Thanks to EC Regulation 261/2004 passengers are protected from flight disruption costs and can receive Air Transat compensation to make up for their trouble. Flight disruptions include Air Transat delays, denied boarding due to overbooking and cancellations.
Your eligibility for compensation depends on the severity of the disruption and how it delays your travel plans.
Schedule Change
If the airline gives you less than 14 days’ notice, then you’re entitled to compensation.
Flight Cancellations
If your Air Transat flight cancellation is not required for safety purposes and causes more than 3 hours of delayed arrival, you’re entitled to Air Transat flight cancellation compensation. You can also receive an Air Transat cancelled flight refund.
In the case of flight cancellation, the airline will provide you with meal vouchers, accommodation, and transportation.
Extraordinary Circumstances
Some examples of extraordinary circumstances defined by regulation EC 261/2004 include bad weather conditions and natural disasters. These situations are out of the airline’s control, which means passengers aren’t entitled to compensation.
