When Are You Entitled To Avianca Flight Compensation?
There are certain situations where passengers qualify for Avianca compensation.
Flight Disruptions
If your flight is delayed more than 3 hours, you’re entitled to Avianca delay compensation. If you accepted an Avianca flight refund for your delay, you’re still eligible for Avianca delayed flight compensation.
In addition, if the airline can’t find your luggage 21 days after the expected delivery date, you’re eligible for Avianca lost baggage compensation. Denied boarding due to overbooking and flight cancellation also entitles you to Avianca compensation.
Schedule Change
When the airline changes your schedule within 14 days before the original departure time, then you are entitled to Avianca flight compensation.
Flight Cancellations
According to EU regulations, if the airline gave you less than 14 days’ cancellation notice, you may be entitled to compensation. If they can reroute you without severely delaying your arrival time, you may NOT be entitled to Avianca compensation.
If your Avianca flight was cancelled and you accepted a refund, you can still receive Avianca claim compensation.
Extraordinary Circumstances
As per EC Regulation 261/2004, Avianca delayed flight compensation is not provided in extraordinary circumstances. These are circumstances beyond the control of the airline, such as weather or political instability. Airline strikes don’t qualify as extraordinary circumstances.
