The world tourism day may be long past, but tourism never really stops. In fact, we know we have some active travelers among our readers. That’s why we gave you some fun quiz games before – and now, we have some exciting data to share!
451 one of you cast your votes on the quiz that determined your traveler type. More than half of you apparently travel to experience adventure – only one in three said that they do it to relax. Apparently, lounging on the beach isn’t a cracked up as it used to be. And a lot of your adventures are idealists: 54% said they try to visit everything and a little more than half choose the destinations that match their desires rather than whatever cheap plane tickets are available.
For the more relaxed traveler, it’s all about comfort. The overwhelming majority prefers cheap flights over all-inclusive packages. However, when it comes to the experience itself, they’re split overvaluing the entire experience (the food, the stay, nature) and being happy with lounging at the hotel pool with a great view.
When it came to the types of travelers, Hedonists – the ones who valued the nightlife – were but 3% while Napsters and Selfieholics took up most of the relaxation-prone pool. Of the adventurers, many cheap-ticket fans turned out to be quite the loose cannons once the plane was down. More than half of them voted that they want to see everything at the destination rather than going by whatever was the cheapest and most available.
In general, The Insiders made up the largest single chunk of our audience. These 105 – one in four, basically – souls want to get to know the cities they visit intimately and immerse themselves in the culture. Who knew that we attracted people with such a profound view of travel!

I think we already know that you hate flight disruptions. It’s a very common human feature to dislike flight delays, cancellations, and overbooking – except for that one guy who tries to make a living out of flight compensations. When an airline fails you like that, don’t go into the jungles yourself, even if you’re an adventurer – submit your claim with Skycop and we’ll help you get up to 600 EUR in-flight compensation! It’s enough to afford you a second carry-on bag on a Ryanair flight!
