It seems that European travel is going to see some flight disruptions come Easter. Spanish unions are organizing protests and strikes always cause some disturbances. Will your plans be affected?

Philip Meeson, executive chairman of Jet2’s owner, Dart Group, wants flight compensation rules to be more lenient. Seeing how Jet2 paid 32 million pounds (about €37m) last year, they seem to have a good reason to desire change. On the other hand, maybe they should improve their service instead?

Boeing 737 MAX 8 continues to cause issues even when it’s safely stuck on the ground. The questionable future availability of the type is what Ryanair is blaming for the airline’s decision to cancel several routes. Meanwhile, Flybe is cancelling flights to reign in its system. Flight disruptions caused by either these cancellations can be used to claim compensation!

Usually, overbooking ruins your plans, and maybe of several people that you know. But what if you’re a teacher who is denied boarding due to overbooking and he’s forced off the plane – but the 16 middle schoolers you’re chaperoning still take the flight? That’s must have been one crazy field trip!

David Dao is probably the most famous martyr of overbooking. In 2017, he has violently dragged off a United Airlines flight when he didn’t agree to give up his seat for UA personnel who were flying for work reasons. Finally, the man decided to give an interview.

Jet Airways, an Indian carrier, is in some hot water. Last week, its plane started getting grounded due to insolvency. Flights in Europe are being cancelled while the airline desperately scrambles for investment.

British Airways will start offering a beer that was brewed 40,000ft up in the air! Called Speedbird 100 and brewed by BrewDog, it will be available on flights come May 1st.

Last Wednesday, a passenger on El Al flight from Tel Aviv decided to jump out of the plane once it had landed in New York. He opened the emergency door and was grabbed by two of the crew before he managed to fully get out. I wonder what’s his story!
