An EasyJet Airbus A319 about to carry out a flight from Lyon Saint to Rennes  was forced to turn back due to bomb threat. Turned out, it was a fake threat by a 23-year-old student who didn’t want to meet his parents.

On January 21st, a British Airways Boeing 747-400 was flying from Boston to London Heathrow when, about 100nm north of Moncton, Canada, the crew donned oxygen masks, reported smoke in the cockpit and turned back to Boston. A faulty air conditioning pack was the culprit. 

A Transavia Boeing 737-800 flying from Paris to Tunis had to divert to Nice after a 30-year-old Tunisian man got violent, shouted “Allahu akbar” and tried to get into the cockpit. He was detained by the police upon landing. 

An Aeroflot Boeing 737-800 on the flight from from Astana (Kazakhstan) to Moscow Sheremetyevo landed pretty well… before going off the track and getting stuck. Nobody was injured, but the plane was stuck in the airport for at least ten hours, which must have done wonders for schedules.

A British Airways Airbus A380-800 was flying from Miami to London Heathrow when one of the passengers felt his phone heating up. Then the battery caught fire.
