Ryanair Cancels Routes, Flybe Continues Cancellations
Ryanair is cutting domestic flights due to uncertainty over Boeing 737 MAX while Flybe continues cancelling flights.

Ryanair has cut down the number of flights from Edinburgh to London from four a day to four a week (none on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays). Flight from Stansted to Belfast went down from three a day to two a week. This is happening because Ryanair has competition on those routes and because the future of Boeing 737 MAX (the airline has ordered the MAX 200 model, with 8 extra seats) is uncertain. Meanwhile, Flybe has already cancelled 10 flights this week to cope with the pilot shortage.
As always, air passengers suffering from these cancelled flights should know that they have rights granted to them under Regulation (EC) 261/2004. The airline has to provide you with free meals and drinks. You should also be allowed to make two free calls, use email or send a free fax. If you have to wait for the flight for one or more nights, the carrier has to provide you with free accommodation at a hotel, including transport to/from the airport. In case they’re unable/unwilling to do this, save the receipts: all “rational” expenses (no VIP penthouses, caviar or limos) should be refunded afterwards.
